Strangest Of Ways

Strangest of Ways

My father said hello today, in the most strangest of ways.
As if he took me by the hand, and said, son come and walk this way.
You go forward, and I’ll go back will meet in the middle some day.
My father said hello today, in the most strangest of ways.

When I least expect it, I feel brave.
Keep it all in perspective, my father would say.

Powerful from such a man with much strength and grace could strain.
But never once did I think I’d fall or falter from the weight.
You gave me all that I am today, there isn’t anything left to say.
Except forever heartfelt thank you, for the love drenched gifts you gave.

Because when I least expected, I feel brave.
And don’t never forget you, my father, my friend.

Good Lord with all the wrong intentions, ridicule and false pretensions,
Vanity and self obsessions, I don’t get why the fearless still pray.
Seems to me we’ve got a queer situation, self-inflicted self induced deprivation,
I neediness seriously lacking patience, and I can’t even see the will to sustain.
You never mind what the past Ought of taught us,
Your eyes go blind to what all those gone fought and brought us,
You spend too much of your time on you not us, I often wonder what my father would say.

Today I laid upon your grave, and daydreamed the day away.
I pretended that you were here, and all that you’d have to say.
The tears I shed come from deep inside, won’t let my memories fade away.
My father said hello today, in the most strangest of ways.

And when I least expected, I feel brave.
My father protect us, my father amen.

My father said hello today, and the most strangest of ways.
